NBSC ALUMNI MEETING GEARS UP FOR HOMECOMING AND ORGANIZATIONAL UPDATES
The Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) Alumni Association, led by Alumni President Hon. Malou S. Armilla and Mr. Felix Velasco, convened on October 29, 2025, initiated by the SUC President I, Dr. Christie Jean Villanueva-Ganiera, CESE, to discuss key updates regarding the organization’s registration, upcoming activities, and the much-anticipated alumni homecoming.
During the meeting, updates on the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) registration were presented. She clarified that the collection of alumni fees is currently on hold due to compliance requirements under SEC regulations.
In terms of organizational matters, the group proposed inviting alumni in batches to foster wider participation in the upcoming assembly. Discussions also centered on the homecoming celebration, tentatively scheduled for March 2026, aligning with NBSC’s Foundation Day.
Dr. Ganiera expressed full support for the event, pledging the administration’s assistance with logistical arrangements. While financial resources remain limited, Ms. Armilla emphasized the importance of collective effort and suggested tapping alumni in leadership positions, such as attorneys and regional directors, for potential support and collaboration.
Other proposed activities include sports events, such as invitational games, and possible partnership programs like job fairs to engage alumni and students alike. Dr. Ganiera also recommended organizing the alumni base directly within NBSC and appointing a focal person to coordinate alumni-related activities and communication.
Despite the financial and regulatory challenges, both Armilla and Velasco underscored the alumni’s strong sense of belonging to NBSC.
“We prefer to have the program here, where everyone feels at home,” Armilla shared.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment among the officers, several of whom are currently stationed at NBSC, to strengthen the alumni organization and create meaningful opportunities for connection and collaboration in the months ahead.
